Bijela, March 1st - Cakes are made of cream, sweets, chocolate, even gold..., and the ingredient they all have in common is love, and this is why they are so lovely and sweet“ - the words you could hear at the reception given by the children from the Home “Mladost“ in Bijela for their guests who again flocked to visit this event called “A Cake for a Smile“ organized for the sixth time. It is a charity event, which is now traditionally organized by the Youth Centre Herceg Novi.

“Today everything smells sweet, like fruit, pudding and cream, we are very happy today and we won’t let anybody spoil our fun“ were some of the many comments, and there were also some kids who impatiently wanted to know which cake is for them and whether each child will get one.

This year numerous organizations, companies and individuals from the cities of Boka as well as from Budva, Bar. Podgorica, Belgrade, Novo Mesto (Slovenia) and Macedonia have brought 82 cakes, which is 20 more than the last year, along with many more sweets. Among the guests there were the Assistant of the USA Ambassador in Podgorica, Mr. Megan Gallardo, Mrs. Ljiljana Raičević from the “Women’s Shelter House“ in Podgorica, the representatives of the Disabled Young Association, the wife of the Mayor of Herceg Novi, Mrs. Svetlana Mandić, the representatives of the city management, the representatives of Herceg Novi Police Station, Tourist Organization, “Sunshine Ray“, “Riza“, the “Ecologists“, “Alexander“ Villa , and many other organizations and individuals.

In the Youth Centre they pointed out that this is the way to show that one is never alone and never will be as long as they are surrounded by joy, optimism and good will, the people of pure souls and philantropic intentions. And this year again the sweets were an enjoyable sight, the small works of art crafted by busy hands of women.
